There is a tremendous amount of irony where today’s Spider-Man issue is a push for Kamala Khan while characters who were once popular are being killed off.  It’s almost like fans are too blind to realize that Kamala Khan will be killed just as brutally in years to come.

I mean, MC2 Spider-Girl is probably gonna be ruined next issue, but everyone just sees this as a Kamala Khan push.  Don’t be surprised when the same fate happens to Kamala.

Huh.  So apparently Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan)’s book was only expected to reach issue 7 and get canceled.  Apparently they didn’t have high hopes for it.

And now it’s outselling Carol Danver’s book.

That actually makes me kinda happy.

Pro-Tip: Carol Danvers during the Marvel Civil War to Secret Invasion was a horrible person.

Like, she was a HORRIBLE person.

As in she would lie about Captain America being alive to trick friends to come with her to arrest them.

As in she separated Julia Carpenter from her daughter cause she was Anti-Reg.

As in she would bring a Skrull into space and suffocate him and she sat there and enjoyed it.

As in she punched out Diamondback, Captain America’s 4th girlfriend, for being anti-registration (which Captain America also was) after his death, and then start bragging how she lives up to Cap’s legacy in the same issue.

As in she punched Rogue so hard she hospitalized her.

NO REALLY!  CAROL DANVERS WAS A HORRIBLE PERSON DURING CIVIL WAR TO SECRET INVASION!

I love when Kamala Khan first debuted, they made her seem to be majestic and awe inspiring…and then she turned into a lovable dork.

You know why most female solo books fail?

It’s because they never establish their own supporting cast and instead just borrow whichever hero they can get their hands on.

That’s why I’m loving Kamala Kahn.

Joker’s Daughter outsold Ms. Marvel #1.

I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.

Out of genuine curiosity:
What does the Carol Corps think about Rogue?

I’m actually really frustrated with /co/.

They for some reason keep crapping on the new Ms. Marvel book, saying “It doesn’t establish character” or “Nothing happens”, and yet this is the same group of people who claimed Hickman’s “Avengers #1” was amazing, when it was just the movie Avengers losing to a new villain!

It’s just…URG!  Do they only like something if it’s praising something that’s already overhyped?!

I don’t get it.

So yeah, Kamala Kahn is insanely likable and adorable.  She’s reminding me of Anya Corazon.

I’m digging the new Ms. Marvel book.

So here is something I really like that is revealed about Kamala.
She’s not afraid to deviate from the popular trends.
Captain Marvel is extremely popular right now, and her new look has helped defined her for her fans.  Kamala is a big Carol fan, but she instead liked the Ms. Marvel costume more.  When she says politically incorrect, she’s kinda right.  Many fans have decried the Ms. Marvel outfit as cheesecake and even editors like Steven Wacker were doing a big push to change Carol into Captain Marvel and no longer Ms. Marvel.
And that’s completely understandable that people felt that way about the Ms. Marvel outfit.
But here we have a character that in her debut issue is instead saying that she prefers the controversial Ms. Marvel outfit over the Captain Marvel outfit.  That speaks levels because it shows that Kamala is actually speaking her mind about what she likes, even if it flies in the face of many as something they didn’t like.It shows that she can deviate from the popular trends and decide to go with controversial ones, and that’s OKAY!
I think that is something that really stood out to me about this book.  It’s saying it’s okay to deviate.
